Magic Under the Mistletoe by Lucy Coleman @rararesources #bookreview

Happy almost Thanksgiving!

Where in the world has the year gone? I am loving all the festive Christmas wreaths this year, but I’m still in denial that it is closing in on 2020! This was another fun festive story that put a big smile on my face!🎁

Magic Under the Mistletoe

Christmas and romance are in the air…

It’s December 23rd and while everyone else is rushing home for the holidays, workaholic Leesa Oliver is dreading switching on her out-of-office for the festive season. And it seems her equally driven boss, Cary Anderson, isn’t relishing spending Christmas at his family’s country estate either.

So together, they draft an unexpected Christmas contract: They’ll spend half of the holidays with each other’s families, pretending to be a couple. Leesa knows the insufferably good-looking Cary will make her Christmas more bearable, but what happens after the last of the mince pies have been eaten…?

Leesa signed off on a sensible business agreement, but somewhere, amongst the fairy lights and carols something seems to have changed… It seems there might just be some magic under the mistletoe this Christmas!

My Thoughts

Such a fun festive story! The fake romance trope is one of my absolute favorites! Lucy Coleman has put a bit of a new spin on it wrapped it up in Christmas paper and put a bow on top! Lessa and Cary are both workaholics. Working together on a project and almost cannot believe that they are going to be interrupted by Christmas. Neither of them are looking forward to going home for the holidays, but after a bit of a misunderstanding they decide to make a pact. The Santa Claus pat, both of them will accompany the other to their families and pretend to be a happy couple. Should be easy right? And it will get their families off their backs. I’m certain you all think you know where this is going, but I have to say the journey was a bit longer and more involved than I was anticipating. These are too complicated characters with some baggage who are convinced they do not want any romantic entanglements.

this book had all the feels and festive vibes you want from a Christmas romance. Lessa and Cary were good people who you really wanted the best for. Two people that were so perfect for one another, and neither of them could see it. The secondary characters were delightful especially Cary’s eccentric grandmother who happens to be a romance author. This is a definite must read for all Christmas romance lovers. The perfect blend of slow burn romance and holiday cheer!
