One Very Odd Teacher by Robbie Yates @Robbie_b_Yates #bookreview

Happy hump day all! This is actually probably the first day it feels like fall here and good old southern California! It is supposed to stay in the 70s yay!🍃

Thrilled to share with you today my review for this super fun middle grade story about and inquisitive boy Adam and his very odd teacher! A huge thank you too Shalini for my invitation and to Robbie Yates for his quirky story!🙂

Book Blurb:

The humming noise got louder. Adam willed himself to focus. He had to finish his math test.

Suddenly, the noise became unbearable. He glanced up.

Mrs Murphy was inches away, leaning over another kid’s desk. Was the noise coming from her?

Every child remembers a teacher who was a little bizarre, prickly or ill-tempered. Some teachers, though, are very odd indeed, and warrant some closer attention…

This quirky chapter book will thrill kids who are adventurous, brave, and a little bit cheeky!

My Thoughts

This was a fun and “cheeky“ book…

Cheeky A word that as an American stumps me… we don’t use this term and if we do it has an entirely different meaning, but I think I used it correctly here, maybe? Anyways this book was a whole lot of fun from cover to cover! And Adam was an inquisitive child with a spark of spunk… this book is targeted towards middle schoolers but I found it an entertaining read… and it has been a long, Long, long, long time since I was a preteen…🦕

Adam is convinced there is something going on with his teacher… she acts very bizarre and she is “buzzing”… but no one seems to believe Adam, in fact they think it might be he who is the “odd one“… finally his BFF thinks he might be onto something, and so the investigation begins…

This book was laugh out loud, tears running down your face funny! I loved the antics that these kids got up to with this investigation, it brought back some serious memories from my childhood… my brothers and I were convinced the house down the street was haunted, so we took it upon ourselves to investigate… although we weren’t quite as clever and creative as Adam and co… A fun well told story with a positive message….

I have two boys, unfortunately they are past the age of the target audience of this book… but when they were this age it was difficult to find books that appealed to boys in this age group, plenty for my daughter, not so much for my son… so I think it is truly fabulous to have found this gem of a story and I hope there are more to follow! Robbie Yates A job very well done!

Absolutely recommend to the middle schooler in your life….
