Now She’s Gone by Alison James #BlogBlitz #BookReview @AlisonJbooks @bookouture

TGIF! Today I am excited to be part of the blog blitz for this wonderful police procedural🚨

Many thanks to Noelle for the invitation and to Alison James for her fabulous book🚨💙

She took a mouthful of the sweet liquid and started to feel a pounding in her head. Arms went around her waist and she was half lifted and half pulled. The last thing she was aware of was her head hitting a step…

Sixteen-year-old Emily had everything to live for. A bright, beautiful teenager with a promising future ahead of her. But in one night her life is cut short. The police say it’s an accident. But her parents think she was murdered.

When Detective Rachel Prince is called in to investigate the shocking death at the height of the Edinburgh festival, her instincts tell her that things are not as they first appear. Something is very wrong.

As the case takes an unexpected turn, Rachel discovers a chilling link with the suspicious death of another international student, who stayed in the same house as Emily two years before.

Just as Rachel finds herself on the hunt for a serial killer, a painful relationship from her own past catches up with her. And Rachel must decide what is more important – catching the killer or keeping her own secrets?

A breath-taking, tense roller-coaster crime thriller featuring unforgettable series detective Rachel Prince. Now She’s Gone is perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Peter James and Karin Slaughter.

4 Strong Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a strong perfectly paste police procedural… this is the second book in the Rachel Prince series and I thoroughly enjoyed it from cover to cover….

Rachel is an International Liaison Officer, and her cases take her far and wide… A 16-year-old girl is murdered in Scotland… so Rachel and her partner Mark brickall Head up there to see what’s going on (not sure if it’s up or not, my UK geography is lacking)… as things get uncovered Rachel believes this case is tied to another one… and things take her places she’s not quite yet ready to go….

Rachel was a wonderful female protagonist… she had a sense of humor and a bit of a softer side and I appreciated that… there is a little something going on between Mark and her and I’m curious to see where that goes in future books… I thought this was all very well paced and I liked how the clues stacked up…. my only question is… when does book 3 come out?

Recommend to fans of the police procedural with a strong female detective…

One moment can change everything…

Alice Emerson and best friend Sasha Miller have made a pact. They’ve decided to swap city living for the beautiful white beaches of the Outer Banks and pour everything they have into launching an ice cream shop in the little house by the sea where Alice spent blissful childhood holidays with her grandfather. As Alice and Sasha add colour to the walls of the beach house and tempt the locals with their delicious recipes, their fresh new life begins to take shape.

Swept away by her plans, love is the last thing on Alice’s mind. But she keeps running into mysterious doctor Jack Barnes, and finds herself falling for his golden charm and warm smile. As they laugh through sunshine-filled days and long romantic evenings, Alice tries hard not to think he could be the one for her – Jack is only here for the season, and Alice has had her fair share of heartbreak.

Just when Alice’s summer couldn’t be more perfect, she discovers an old letter tucked away in the beach house. It contains a family secret that turns Alice’s world upside down and threatens the future of the ice cream shop. And then Jack reveals a secret of his own…

Will Alice have her dreams shattered and her heart broken, or can she find true happiness this summer?

From the bestselling author of The Summer House, an utterly stunning, uplifting summer romance, about the power of friendship, discovering family secrets, and the beauty of falling in love by the sea.

A perfect beach read filled with fabulous characters, the sun, the sand, and ice cream 🍦 this was a quick fun read you could read poolside or at the beach in a couple hours… or you could read it on your couch and imagine you are in this beautiful setting of the Outer Banks…

Alice and her BFF Sasha need a fresh start… they have both sworn off men, because the men in their lives have been nothing but heartache… but as they say just as you stop looking, love will walk in (not sure who says this?) when Alice meets Jack there is an instant connection… to be honest I felt as though this was a little quick, but I liked Alice and Jack so much I really wanted happiness for them… but their happiness was challenged by a letter containing a secret… will Alice and Jack get there HEA? you’re going to need to read the book to find out….

Alice was a likable character so down to earth and real… I loved Sasha and her friendship, always a treat when you have a positive female friendship in a book! Jack was also quite the good guy, I could see why Alice would fall for him… The setting also played an important part in this book, it just sounded so beautiful… really brought a sense of summer to life…

Absolutely recommend when you are in the mood for a lovely beach read filled with fabulous characters, a beautiful setting, and love💕

Jenny Hale author pic - Apr-18About me by Jenny Hale:

When I graduated college, one of my friends said, “Look out for this one; she’s going to be an author one day.” Despite being an avid reader and a natural storyteller, it wasn’t until that very moment that the idea of writing novels occurred to me.

Sometimes our friends can see the things that we can’t.

While I didn’t start straight away, that comment sowed a seed and several years, two children, and hundreds of thousands of words later, I completed a novel that I felt was worthy of publication. The result was Coming Home for Christmas, a heart-warming story about the magic of love at Christmas, and 2017 TV movie on The Hallmark Channel.

The rest is history.

When I’m not writing, I’m a mother of two boys and a wife to a very supportive husband.
